Some of you may have visited my Website called "FLYING@NIGHT"...if you have, you heard this song when the site opens...it's called "It's For You". This song saved my life Musicially and keeps me grounded and firmly based in what the real music is all about.
Please enjoy the amazing Pat Matheny and the equally wonderful Lyle Mays from the Album "As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls"
Note: Most of these pic's were taken right here in Oklahoma.

Nice. There was a pic of 2 lane blacktop that would be perfect for drag racing our Corvettes . and that is a nice mellow tune as well.maybe if you want you could elaborate more about it and how it effected you so much.

You might have read the dedication i did to my dad on the website under "Back in the day"...I was raised in a house with no TV but the best sound system money could buy(and of course the computers)...anyway, shortly after leaveing home to attend OU ,i was pretty lost and sort of fell in with some Metal freaks. I instantly hated their music but i needed friends and they thought the music was cool. It dident take me alot longer to realize not only did i hate their music, but i dident like them very much either. So like all unhappy little girls, i called my daddy and we talked about it. A few days later i got the "Wichita Falls" Album in the mail, he had circled the "Its for You" song in magic marker and enclosed a note that read " Relax, listen to this song and then the rest of the Album. Pay attention to what you know is important, go to the library..do your studies,be sweet, be kind , don't try so hard and let your friends flow to you." and thats what i did. Those are his exact words..i still have the letter, and the album..and im still trying to follow his advice to this day. My daddy is a very smart guy. And that is the story of that song, and why it means so much to me.

Yes they do Steve, its a life long dedication to the hardest job you will ever love. My own parents set the standard for me every day, if i can even approach the decency and grace with which my Mom and Dad have lived their lives and raised my brother and sister and myself, i will feel like i have done my job.

You have excellent taste in music. For most people I think music is just entertainment. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And it is easy to find snobs who think they appreciate music but really only discern it as some sort of anti-pop measure of their coolness. It is much more rare to find people that really get music as the art form that it is. Just like all great art, maybe even more so than some, the emotion and thought real music can evoke is immeasurable. And like most true art it rarely is immediately valued for this. It can take a long time to sort through the emotions and thoughts that it creates. And it can mean different things to different people. These feelings can change over time. But what it doesn't get in immediate recognition it often trumps seven fold in the long run. True art is never forgotten because of the time it takes to work through the emotions. It becomes a permanent part of the human psyche. A lot of the stuff you post or recommend isn't necessarily stuff I would be drawn to on my own. I think you tend to appreciate the words and meanings of the songs more than I. I am more into the feelings the music provides me. I for the most part don't even pay attention to or remember he lyrics. This of course isn't always the case. But a fair assessment. There is no doubt though that you appreciate real honest music and don't really care what is popular or not. Only what moves you. One of my all time favorite quotes is " There are only two kinds of music. Good and bad. Everything else is just cataloging." I'm sure most people will probably think i'm am just trying to sound like a smart guy and am just talking out of my ass. But I know that the people that get music for the art it is will understand exactly what I mean. We are the lucky ones! lol
BTW. Is that actually your Vette on the cruisin user profile or just a pic from online?

Cool Most people's favorite vettes are the C2's . Like the 67 Stingrays. Thos e are definitely beautiful cars. But my favorites have always been the C3's " Mako Shark" cars . Particularly the early metal bumper cars . My Dream Corvette is a black 69 coupe with the ZL1 all aluminum 427 rat motor and a four speed. OOOh man i just got a boner lol
