Earlier this week I got a new monitor for my computer, cause the other died. This screen is 3 inches larger in length than the old one. The icons are larger on the new screen. I keep getting a message that I have too many icons on my START MENU. This wasn't a problem with the old screen. The message tells me to unpin some to make room for the "ones" not being shown. I did unpin a couple but, all of the ones I have there now I use regularly. My question is is there a way to shrink the size of the icons without changing the whole page's aspect ratio? This screen has a feature that automatically chooses the proper aspect ratio for my system. And when and if I change the aspect ration I get a message basically asking me if I really want to do that. Anybody have a suggestion please. Thank you Attachments:

better leave it alone Dennis...what you could do is , only have the most frequently used icons visible on the desktop...then create a folder in your "my documents" and move all the rest of the icons into it....then copy the folder and paste it on the desktop...that way all of your unused icons are consolidated in to one spot, and if you need them , just open that folder and click on them.

I found what may be the solution in "Taskbar and Start Menu". There you can choose between Large and Small icons. I changed the option to small icons and I am hoping that will satisfy that nagging suggestion. And of course when one doesn't use an icon for some time it automatically drops off IF it is not pinned. Thanks Carol I always appreciate your wisdom on these matters. But, I am slowly learning things, usually by making mistakes though. As a former Math Teacher told us one day "If you are not making mistakes, you are not learning." Maybe there is hope for this "old guy" yet.
