I have also been around Motorcycles my whole life. There are pictures around somewhere of me when I was a toddler, 2 maybe 3, riding around on the tank of my dad's 57 Panhead chopper. I got my first minibike when i was around 8. Got it for Christmas. Had dirtbikes pretty much the whole time i was growing up. I was riding around on a Susziki 185 DS enduro when I was 11 years old. Looked pretty much like this one except mine was around 10 years old when i got it
The seat of it came up to about the bottom of my sternum. When i stopped I would have to slide of the seat and lean the bike while keeping one lge stretcthed up over it lol I did my best to never stop though lol. this is the bike I received 3rd degree burns on half my leg from. My dad went to Laconia one year for the rally. He was gone for 3 or 4 days. Not sure where my mom was at the time They had split up by this point. But me, my brother, and our friends and had so terrorized the lady that wash watching that she just gave up and left. So we are off the chain at this point. We were out at like 3 a.m. riding the bike around the deserted streets in our town. Well i pass a car coming down the road about block from my house. they flashed the headlights at me and honked the horn. But i didn't recognize the car so I just gunned the throttle and sped off. well o go for my little cruise and come back around the corner and that car was sitting in my front yard. So i pull up there slowly. It was my dad being dropped off by a freind from his vacation. I don't recall alot from what happened after that lol. I'm sure I don't want to. What I do know is that bike met it's end at the hands of an 10lb sledge hammer lol. I had many many dirtbikes through those years. Id ride them into the ground, fix them and then do it again. Lots of crashes. As they say after all. there are only 2 kinds of motorcyle riders, those who have gone down on their bike. And those who are going to go down on their bike.
I got my first Harley when I was 21. An 81 FXE superglide. It leaked oil and had rusty paint. But it never left me stranded anywhere. I have only gone 2 years without having at least 1 Harley since then.
Right now I have 4. An 88 Flhs. This is the bike i ride all the time. As often as possible. I rebuilt the motor on it about 5 years ago bored the cylynders and stroked it so it is 88ci now . Has a mild cam in it. Just enough to make it lope a little but. S&S super G carb. Nothing radical. Wanted it to last. I have put about 40,000 miles on it since then and it still runs just as strong as it did when I built it.
I have an 86 FLHTC. Igot it from the original owner in Miami. It is completely stock except for the tires and mufflers. The guy was a retired veteran. He bought the bike new and only rode it once in a blue moon. He always kept it in a garage. It is a very nice bike As close to new as any 86 could have a hope of being. It still only has 31,000 miles on it. I ride it evry once in awhile. but it stays in my shop building out back for the most part. The first picture is an old one that i found from when I first bought it. the second one is of it sitting up on the lift out in my shop. I changed the oil and filter in it and just left it up there for now.
I have an 88 FLHTC that I have had for 10 years. it has 113,000 miles on it and still runs perfect. It used to be my main rider before i bought and built the black 88. This was my first bagger. Before that i was young and dumb and thought they were for old guys lol. Had a few hot rod strokers and stuff. Blew up quite a few of them. Cost me lots of money. It is expensive being young and dumb lol. It is basically just sitting on my back porch waiting until I either have enough money to restore it or somebody comes up with enough cash to buy it. It is gonna cost them though lol. Me and this bike have been through some ShaZammmm together.
And then i have this shovelhead I started putting together. It is just a bastard assembled from different part. rebuilt 80 in shovelhead motor. Five speed. Wide glide front end. I ran out of money before i finished it. Gonna try to sell it cheap this week since Biketoberfest is here. It runs and will ride. But need stuff like lights, front brake caliper, beter foot controls. and paint. It's sitting in my shop next to my lift and is in the way. It needs to go.
Then you have my tools. I have probably collected around $100,000 worth of tools over the years.. Started my first set when I was working at the salvage yard when I was 16. Still have them.
These are the boxes in my garage where the black bike is. This is where I work on cars for the most part. I honestly don't do a lot of that anymore. just maintaining my own stuff.
Then this is in my shop building out back where I work on bikes.
And this is my dad's Black Beauty. A 09 FLHTC. 96ci, fuel injected, six speed, 100 watt stereo/cd. only 1200 miles. It is basically brand new. He bought it from the dealer. It was one that didn't sell when it was new. I have it on my back porch next to mine right now so nobody ShaZammmms with it at his place while he isn't home. I will probably end up with this one if the bank will let me take over the loan.
