I'm non-religious, so no, angels and demons mean nothing to me except as figures in books to keep the plots entertaining. lol
My family was rare in that, as children, we were not exposed to religion--my parents and extended family were/are very progressive in their outlook and views--it was considered "optional". Our choices would have been respected had we decided to regularly attend any type of religious institutions or functions, but none of us ever did. It's good in many ways because I have a progressive outlook and it allows me to be very objective. However, it can be a disadvantage when others discuss religious views or situations and I cannot offer any input or even understand sometimes what's being discussed without any frame of reference. Often people will find themselves giving me an exegesis directly relating to certain aspects of their faith before they can communicate effectively with me on any religious topics. lol ;D
With respect to aliens, I am not that conceited to think that we are the only planet with living organisms, or the only sentient beings in the universe. To my mind, it's a matter of ascertaining what other type(s) of life forms exist and at what stage of evolution it/they have reached. In my opinion, the real challenge for scientists is to discover and invent new technologies to help aid in the effort to unravel the mystery.
I have considered the idea that perhaps at this point in time, we are the only planet that has beings at our particular stage of evolution; and, that if there are other worlds out there with life forms at a similar stage of evolution, they are simply too far away for us to ever discover their existence, at least not in my lifetime.
So, that is probably the best theory I can put forth with regard to aliens.
